HOLIDAY DECORATIONS

Now is the time to take down and organize those holiday decorations as they are packed away for next year. Decorations will be sorted, and, extra ornaments and lights not used for the 2008 season can be donated to worthy causes.

February 2010

KITCHEN PANTRY

The focus this month will be going through the kitchen pantry and organizing the food that’s to be kept and donating the unopened food that’s no longer needed, used or preferred. The surplus food will be taken to community food shelters.

March 2010

LINEN CLOSET

March’s focus will be the linen closet, going through and organizing the towels and sheets that are needed as well as finding an organization in the community that can put old sheets and towels to good use.

April 2010

CLEAN UP WEEK

The focus of this month is to go through those items that need to be disposed of in a proper way and get them ready for pickup by the city.  Be ready to go when May 4-8 rolls around.  For more information of cleanup week in the area go to http://www.cleanupweek.com/.

SEASONAL CLOTHES

Now that winter is a distant memory (we hope), it is a great idea to go through those winter clothes now and find the ones that no longer fit but still in good condition.  We can make sure that we find a good home for those gently used clothing.

THE MAN DEN

The garage is a great additional room in the house if it can be organized properly.  Spend the time now to make room for all of your storage needs and maybe even get all of the vehicles back in the garage.

VACATION

Are you planning a vacation and need help finding a way to pack your families’ belongings so that it doesn’t feel like you are bringing the kitchen sink.  Be able to pack your items in a way that makes sense for your family.  Let’s also look through your luggage and donate the pieces that you no longer need to children in the foster care system.

Fall is the time that kids head off to school and is a great time to get those past school memories organized for the new ones to come in.  Find the proper way to store photos so that you can enjoy them for years to come.

When was the last time that you checked the expiration date of vitamins and medications?  In addition to the bathrooms we may find time for the hall closets.  Let’s clean out those closets now and find more room to store what they were intended to store, not a catch all.
